The Devonhurst is located on a cliff top promenade in Broadstairs, Kent. The guesthouse is independent and has a long reputation for the warmth of our hospitality and personal service. We want your visit to be a positive experience and we look forward to welcoming you to The Devonhurst.

• The Devonhurst is 1/2 mile from the train station at Broadstairs which provides direct connections to London
• Taxis are readily available outside the train station
• The centre of town is an easy 5-7 minutes walk from our door step

Arrival & Car Parking Facilities

• There is ample, unrestricted parking available along the eastern esplanade
• There is a small step from the pavement up onto our pathway
• There are a further two steps on the porch and a small (10cm) door threshold
• Assistance is provided wherever possible with parking and luggage

Main Entrance & Reception

• Once through the front door the reception area is level with access to the dining room and guest lounge
• The reception desk is located to your right as you enter the front hall
• The reception desk is 95cm high.
• On check in staff will brief you on our evacuation policy on request
• There are no steps to the dining room and guest lounge
• The floor in the front hall and the guest lounge is carpeted and the dining room floor is wooden parquet

Public Areas - General

• There is a pay phone on the reception desk that guests can use
• The Devonhurst is three floors high and access to the 9 bedrooms is via a staircase only
• There are 19, 15cm high stairs to the first floor
• To reach the second floor, there are a further 14, 15cm high stairs followed by a half landing and a further 4, 15cm high stairs

Public Areas - WC

• There is a ground floor toilet that is not wheelchair accessible
• Access to the ground floor toilet is along a level, 75cm wide corridor
• There is one, 19cm high step up to the toilet
• There is no colour contrast with critical surfaces and the sanitary ware is white

Dining Room & Lounge Areas

• It has a level entry and is open plan
• Table service is offered throughout the dining area
• The tables are all of equal height and are wheelchair accessible
• Lighting levels can be increased if required
• We cater for most dietary needs, although prior warning is requested

Outdoor Facilities

• The Devonhurst has a front garden facility with bench seating and can be used subject to weather conditions
• There is one step to access the front garden from the path

Bedrooms

• We have 9 rooms that are accessed via a staircase
• The bedrooms and bathrooms are generously proportioned but some provide more turning and transfer space than others
• We try as far as possible to allocate bedrooms based upon individual guest needs
• Emergency procedures are posted on the door to each bedroom and are explained upon check in for any guests upon request.
• Every bedroom has television LCD with remote control
• All of our bedrooms have carpeted floors
• Bedroom lighting can be switched on at the entrance to the room and also within the room
• There are bedside lights
• There is a clock radio, mini refrigerator and hairdryer in every room
• All rooms are non-smoking in compliance with current legislation

En-suites

• Most en-suites are fitted with non-slip floor tiles or vinyl floor coverings
• All showers have non-slip trays
• Bathroom lighting is bright and all sanitary ware is mostly white

• We have a general evacuation procedure with specific procedures for infirm or disabled guests and this will be explained upon check in, upon request.
• All housekeeping staff have been trained and are aware of procedures to aid privacy in bedrooms
• There is poor coverage for some mobile phone networks
• Wi-Fi is available throughout the building (Subject to coverage availability)
• We have two rooms suitable for families
